Be Weary Of Destination Anxiety
Be weary of destination anxiety, or, the belief that happiness is waiting for you at some point in the future, when you attain something. You should, of course, set goals, aspire, strive for better, and keep a positive outlook, but, do not forgo your presence of mind by sourcing your happiness from anything outside of yourself. Be where you are. Take note of how that feels. Happiness is the state of mind in which we find presence hiding in plain sight, what lies behind remains out of sight, and what is to be will be. This is a state free of worry, doubt, and regret. This is a state in which the individual learns to appreciate what they have and where they are with an applied perspective. There is no fear of missing out. No fear of making mistakes. No fear of disapproval or disappointment; and thus, there is no expectation. Perhaps the detachment from expectation is what causes this effect. But regardless of what comes first, the happy person has all of above traits and dispositions. They do not carry unnecessary baggage that they will sort through ‘when they get there.’ They know that here and now is as good a time as any to free themselves of dead weight. They know that they must keep a level head and a steady pace, but they also know that their chosen course could yield a variety of destinations and that everything is transitory. Everything in life is ever changing, thus, those that stay with the current will be better equip to manage the ebbs and flows. Smile… you got it.
